After learning about the grape types and fermentation that produce their award winning wines, taste these for yourselves and even take a bottle home. Polgoon Vineyard, situated on south facing slopes over looking Penzance and St Michaels Mount in Cornwall, provides the perfect location for growing grapevines and apple trees. Run by the Coulson family, who originally worked in the local fishing industry, they are dedicated to producing some of the finest Cornish wines, ciders and fruit juices. Your day will begin with a guided tour through the orchard and vines with one of the wine makers. You will then return to the winery and learn about production operations in the winery, this covers the various processes from pressing the fruit, for their Cornish cider and Cornish wine, the fermentation and how the Method Traditionnelle is used to make their English sparkling wine in Cornwall! As part of your experience you will also taste five different wines in the onsite shop and receive a bottle of their award winning still wine to take home as a souvenir of your visit.
